“For me, a quilt is something that is made with love. It is given with love, handed down to future generations with love, and used with love. As time goes by, quilts get worn, torn, split, uneven, and disintegrated. They are mended and patched and continued to be used. My quilts reflect these qualities of love, use, shredding, and mending. Since my quilts have a rustic quality, I use rustic subject matter. I love exploring faces and facial expressions, and have translated that into the faces of animals. I also have made a series of old, rusted cars and pickup trucks. They also have a story to tell. I love the duality of a warm, cozy, homey quilt, with a rustic theme.”
